What methods do you cover?
You will learn to apply 4 methods:

- pre bonded microrings (the most popular type), human hair wefts (quick and inexpensive to apply) new nanorings (the smallest hair extension bonds in the world) and tape in extensions (quick and easy to apply, very popular at the moment)
We believe that one size doesn't fit all so we cover methods to suit all hair types, thicknesses and client budgets. 

What will I learn?
By the end of the training you will have a thorough understanding of hair extensions, to be able to carry out a consultation, to examine contra indications which may prevent a client from using extensions, demonstrate sectioning, be able to apply 4 different methods of hair extensions, have an understanding of how to cut, style and blend these extensions. You will also be able to remove and re apply extensions.

Are your classes online or in person?
Your training is both online and in person. This short video explains how it works 
You will complete your theory training online in your own time by watching a series of short videos at your own pace and at times that work around your schedule. This is 10 bite size modules and we recommend a minimum of 3 hours to complete.
Your practical training is one day and this is when you'll learn how to apply extensions, hands on.

Do I need a model?
You will complete your practical training on a mannequin training head, this is provided by us

How much is the Kit?
Your kit is completely FREE when you do the training and is yours to take away afterwards. It contains everything you need to start doing hair extensions.

Where do I order the hair from?
We will supply you with a list of recommended suppliers throughout the UK and Ireland who you will be able to order from with trade discounts once you've completed your training. 

Do I get a certificate?
On completion of your training you'll receive a widely recognised accredited hair extension certificate from us, this will allow you to order wholesale from suppliers, get insurance and set up trade accounts with hair and beauty wholesalers.

I am not a Hairdresser can I still attend one of your courses?
Yes you can. We teach all levels from beginners with no hairdressing experience to fully trained hairdressers.
This training is open to all, with no formal entry requirements. You do not need any previous knowledge or experience in the hairdressing field to complete this course.

What days do you do the training on?
We offer one on one training 7 days a week so can arrange a day and time that suits you best, our classes are held regularly nationwide. We hold regular classes in Dublin. Limerick, Cork and other cities.

Course overview
This exciting accredited course in hair extensions services provides the qualification and skills needed to apply hair extensions for clients.
The course covers microring, nanoring, weft and tape in systems ensuring a wide range of skills obtained to meet differing client needs.
You will also cover how to identify which products and techniques to use, preparation of client hair, selecting, blending and placing hair extensions to add colour, volume and length for the client and how to complete each service.
Maintenance of extensions, client consultations and aftercare also form part of the course.

Course delivery
​This course is delivered by academy director Melissa Hayward who will be utilising a wide range of knowledge and skills gained during 20+ years in the industry to deliver the course. Hair Extension Training Ireland is the first academy in Ireland dedicated to exclusively delivering hair extension qualifications.

Qualification gained
AIT accredited certificate in hair extensions

Course duration
1 day class plus some at home study.
You will complete an online theory module at home and then attend 1 day practical training in person .
We recommend a minimum of 3 hours for your theory training at home in your own time, this consists of 10 modules that you will complete by watching short videos followed by a quiz or fun assignment.
​Once you’ve completed this your practical training is 1 day.

Who the course is for
Our courses have been specially designed for complete beginners and for experienced hair stylists so you do not need prior experience to benefit from this course.

How is the course assessed
You will be assessed via online assignments and multiple choice quizzes where the pass mark is 80% and also via practical in person training assessment. If you do not pass this course first time round you can redo the course completely free of charge

Progression and business opportunities
Completion of this course means you are qualified to apply 4 methods of hair extension application.
You will also be eligible to open trade accounts with hair extension suppliers to purchase hair and supplies at wholesale prices.
​Your services will also be insurable and insurance discounts are available.

 

Cost
€440 for group training, held monthly in Dublin and other cities nationwide. €540 for one on one training in our studio or we can come to you nationwide (extra fee may apply to cover travel costs depending on location)
